Chair Soccer
Helloooo, this week went by fast again! Last pday we went shopping with the spanish hermanas on Highway 101. It's a street in our area that has a lot of shops on it and it goes all along the beach. So we did that. Then we played volleyball for hours at the church with all the missionaries. I probably shouldn't have been doing that with my elbow but it was super fun so who cares. It didn't hurt as bad as last time I played. For FHE we played chair soccer, I'm not sure if you know what that is. It's where everyone has a chair that they have to protect. Everyone is spread out on the gym floor and you are basically trying to hit other people's chairs which means they are out. It was down to just me and one boy left. You know how competitive I am. Well I got SO tired that I couldn't run after him this one time and he won! It's okay I'm only a little bit mad still. Nah it was fun.
We had a facebook video chat lesson with Jared this week while he was on a road trip. It was cool that even while he was on the road we were able to have a lesson. Technology is super cool. We talked about the talk "Songs sung and unsung" by Jeffery R Holland. We shared a lot of personal experiences and it was just a super solid lesson.
We served in the CRC this week (community resource center). It was cool because we just got to take homeless people shopping pretty much. We went with them and they got to pick out their items. Makes you realize how fortunate you are.
So Wednesday a miracle happened. We had dinner with one of our members and when we showed up, she wasn't even home yet aka hadn't even started making dinner. So we waited and then helped her make dinner which took a while and then actually eating and sharing a message took a while longer. We were a little stressed because we had set an appointment for after dinner but we had to call him and tell him we weren't able to make it. So we had a little bit left before we had to go home so we decided to stop by a referral given to us from a guy who is actually serving a mission from our Del Mar Stake. He had emailed us giving us really bad directions but somehow we made it to the house. The first door we knocked on his friend was there and was interested in learning more! That was huge because our teaching pool right now is literally Jared. So it was super cool and we will pick him up as an investigator tonight. I'm just excited to have someone to teach.
This week we got to help set up for the Mormon prom. They go ALL OUT. Let me tell you. It was insane the detail they went into. It reminded me of the hallway decorations at Palo during homecoming week but even more extravagant. It was crazy.
Transfers are this week. Sister Langton and I will both be staying here in the Del Mar singles ward. It's okay. I was kinda hoping for some change whether companion or area but it's okay. The spanish hermanas are getting white washed out which means my comp and I will be the only sisters in the whole zone/stake.
A hermano from Oceanside came to visit, he took my companion and I out to lunch which was interesting because he doesn't speak English and she doesn't speak spanish.
Overall a good week. Love you all! Thanks for all the prayers, love, and support!
