Potato Shack
Hello friends and fam
Great week here in the Encinitas/Del Mar area. Last pday was probably the best pday of my whole mission. We planned a tri-zone activity where about 60 missionaries were together and we had a bbq. We had sand volleyball, football and basketball going on too. It was so much fun. My companion and I were put in charge of the food so we had to divide everything up and give out assignments. Then Monday morning we went and bought a ton of food for 60 missionaries. It was awesome! That night at FHE we played jeopardy with the ward. It was super fun but sadly my team did not win haha.
Tuesday we had exchanges! I went to Vista with Sister Vernon. She is a very new missionary so I got to help her a lot which was good. We walked a ton and I was sweating so much but that's just a part of missionary work. I got to talk to a lot of hispanics there too. Actually I have talked to way more here than I thought I would have. I know the Lord is putting people who speak spanish in my path and I am so grateful He loves me enough to give me opportunities to speak it throughout the week.
This week we had zone conference! One of them we just got to attend and I always learn so much. The next one, we had to give a training in Vista. So we spent all day in Vista and then got to be fake investigators for the missionaries in that zone conference. Our stake president invited all the missionaries over for breakfast a day this week and that was really fun too. We had French toast and then talked about how we can improve the stake.
While we were on exchanges, my companion Sister Langton picked up a new investigator while I was in Vista! So that was a miracle and we are super excited for that.
We had more exchanges this week and I was in Del Mar, my own area with Sister Rigby. She is pretty new in the mission as well but she's awesome. She had never been to the beach before in her life so we went in the morning and studied there. She loved it.
Yesterday we tried this new place to eat called the Potato Shack. We walked up and the owner came up to us and told us that every missionary that goes there gets half price the food. So we got pancakes and a sandwich and split both. It was huge!!! He isn't a member so hopefully when we get by every so often, we can talk to him a little but about the church.
Well it's been a normal week basically! I love being so close to the beach, it's such a beautiful area! Love you all!!
