Liz Is Ready For Baptism!
HIIII! This week was awesome!!
So it started off with exchanges with the STL's. I was with Sister Jackson and I LOVE her. We get along super well and just have so much fun together. We got called to help clean a members apartment to help her move out in the morning and it was absolutely disgusting. Cockroaches everywhere and it looked like she hadn't ever cleaned anything since she moved in. So I was grateful that my mom taught us to clean properly and she kept saying how impressed she was with how well I can clean, so thanks mom ;)
Then we went to visit this recent convert Vince. He's 9 years old and so cute. He is obsessed with football and reminds me a lot of Cody actually haha. He just kept saying "I just want nothing but peace for the whole world and for Jesus to come and tell everyone to stop fighting" SO CUTE.
We had a lesson with a part member family that went really well. Everyone is members in the family except Memo the dad because he can't give up drinking. But he knows it's true. So we read the part in Alma about the Anti-Nephi-Lehis putting away their weapons of war and had them all commit to give up something this week. He told us he wouldn't go to the liquor store!! It was so awesome!!
Our investigator Liz is getting baptized on Saturday and we are really excited for her! She passed the interview yesterday so everything is ready to go!
So for zone conference this transfer Elder Clayton from the 70 is coming to speak to us on November 15th!! I was asked to sing in a group of 4 for him so we have been practicing. I'm really nervous because I'm not really a singer but it should be good. We are singing "Where Can I Turn For Peace?"
Sunday night we went to one of my favorite families for dinner. After the son Jonathan who's 16, got out his guitar and everyone was singing along and it was really cool. I love stuff like that.
I convinced my companion to chop her hair off!! Haha she got it cut yesterday and cut like 5 inches and got a cute A-line cut. It looks really good and she loves it!
Last night we had una noche de hogar with the Family Vargas. I think that's one of my favorite parts of being on a mission is going to the Family home evenings. They are super fun and there is always good food after!
Well today I hit 9 months in the mission! Crazy!! It feels like I just got here but also feels like I've been here my whole life. It's really hard to explain. But I love it!! Hope you all have a great Halloween!! Love you!
